A sisterhood is a group of women who share a common interest. Sisterhoods can be anything from a sorority to a group that practices the same religion, among many others. Members of a sisterhood share similar experiences or interests. If you're looking to discover a sisterhood, here are some tips to help.

Instructions

Difficulty: Easy

Step1
Join a local group of women that share your interests and passions. It could be a local museum, a local historic site, a church or a local group for divorced women. Professional women often find a sisterhood in local unions or business groups. Other areas of local interest where you can discover a sisterhood can be a service related community organization, a single Mom's group, a caregivers group, a craft club or a dance class.
Step2
Go online and discover thousands of other women who have the same interests as you. Google your area of interest or passion to find a group with the same interests. You will find message boards and forums, even pen-pals who can be part of the sisterhood. You can discover varied interests from cooking to women contractors. Contrary to popular opinion, message boards and forums can be very supportive and caring. If you just don't have time to look for local sisterhoods, an online sisterhood is there 24 hours a day.
Step3
Start your own sisterhood. You can start your own sisterhood locally by placing a classified ad about your interests and a contact phone number. Place flyers on bulletin boards at places where you are most likely to find others who have a similar interest. For example, if you want to start a sisterhood for local caregivers, put a flyer on the bulletin board in a nursing home. Start an online sisterhood by visiting a forum that has a group of women with the same interests as you. If there is no forum for your interest, start a thread about it. If the interest grows, start your own forum dedicated to the group's interest and sisterhood.
