Walking shorts are a cool comfortable alternative to sweatpants. Any athletic wear wardrobe should include several pairs of walking shorts. Any good athletic workout requires a cool down period and walking shorts cool the skin naturally.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Buy walking shorts that remove moisture from the skin. Natural fibers are best as they cool while the wick away perspiration. Walking shorts made from natural fibers have a more relaxed fit as well.

  2. Step 2

Wear walking shorts with an elastic band that does not require a belt. Belts are too restricting and can cause lower back pain. Walking shorts are supposed to be for exercise first and foremost and do not need fashion accessories.

  3. Step 3

Put on a pair of lycra walking shorts to prevent "riding up." Lycra is more aerodynamic and the snug fitting walking shorts amplify the workout's efficiency by increasing blood flow.

  4. Step 4

Workout only in properly fitted walking shorts and prevent chaffing and binding. Walking shorts need to have room to flex and move and should not be restrictive.

  5. Step 5

Choose walking shorts according to their intended use. If the short are for serious power walking select a pair of lyrca shorts or sweats. If the walking shorts will be used during leisurely strolls get natural fiber knee-length walking shorts.
