How to Get an Even Tan Using Spray Tan
Spray tanning is a popular way to get a bronzed, sun-kissed look without the hassle of going to a beach. You don't have to worry about ultraviolet rays, either. Chemicals in the spray tan stain the outer layer of your skin. The stain stays there for a few days, then it's time to reapply. Does this Spark an idea?

1
Decide whether you want a professional spray tan or a do-it-yourself tan. Mystic tanning is the most popular spray tanning company. You can also find several spray tanning products at the drug store.
-
2
Stand still if you're in a spray tanning booth. It will spray you evenly, as long as you follow the instructions and stand there.
-
-
3
Buy an at-home tanning product that is a shade or two darker than your skin. Don't go for one that's extremely dark if you're pale. It won't look natural.
-
4
Hold the can at least 10 inches from your body. This will ensure the spray goes on evenly.
-
5
Use long, even strokes to apply the tanner. Stop spraying at the end of each stroke. Make sure you hit every part of your body once for an even tan.
-
6
Use the product sparingly around your knees, ankles and elbows. The rough skin absorbs the spray tan more, so they will turn out darker.

Tips & Warnings
Spray the tanning product on your hands then apply it to your face.
Wash hands as soon as you're done so your palms don't stain.
Don't spray too much on one area of your body or you will be blotchy.
Don't get dressed while the spray tan is still wet. You'll cause it to wipe off in sections and it'll look uneven.
Avoid getting sunless tanning spray in your eyes.
