How to Recycle Spray Bottles

1. Refill a spray bottle with water to use to dampen children's hair. This helps in taming short hair styles and in styling long hair styles, such as braiding.

2. Recycle a spray bottle by refilling it with home made or eco-friendly cleansers. Remember to label the bottle appropriately to avoid any confusion. Store all cleansers out of the reach of children to avoid accidental poisonings.

3. Purchase the product originally in the bottle in a bulk container. You can then refill the spray bottle rather than purchasing another one.

4. Refill a spray bottle with water and add a dropper of scented oil to create an air freshener. This is much less expensive than traditional air fresheners and it not only recycles the spray bottle, but it negates the need to purchase an aerosol can as well.

5. Mix a small amount of dish soap with water and refill a plastic spray bottle. Keep this on hand in your laundry room to pre-treat stains prior to washing.

6. Recycle the unusable plastic spray bottles that have cracked or leak at your local recycling center. They dispose of the product by sending it to manufacturers who melt it down and reuse as many of the components as possible, thereby minimizing what is sent on to landfills.
