Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Raw eggs
  • Straight pin
  • Bowl
  • Decorative paper napkins
  • White liquid glue
  • Paper plate
  • Sponge
  • Wax paper
  1. Step 1

Poke 2 holes in either end of raw egg very carefully with a straight pin. One hole should be just slightly larger than the other, but be careful not to make either too big. Hold the egg over a bowl and gently blow through the smaller hole until the egg is empty. Wipe away any egg left on the shell and set it in a safe place to dry.

  2. Step 2

Separate the layers of a napkin. If you are using decorative white napkins, only use the top decorative layer, however if the bottom layers are colored you may want to use them as well. Tear the napkin into small pieces no larger than two inches. You can tear around shapes or designs in the napkin that you wish to use for your applique egg.

  3. Step 3

Squeeze a tablespoon or so of white liquid glue onto a paper plate. Dip a clean dry sponge into a small amount of glue and brush glue onto part of the egg. Use the same sponge to smooth any wrinkles or bubbles in the napkin.

  4. Step 4

Continue adding glue and napkins to your applique Easter egg until it is completely covered. When finished, cover the entire egg with a layer of glue to seal and protect the applique. Place the egg on a piece of wax paper and let it dry thoroughly.
