While Vitamin C should be a regular part of your diet, it should also be part of your cleaning supplies. Read on to learn more.

Difficulty: Moderate
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Add two or three tablets of Vitamin C to your toilet bowl and allow them to dissolve and soak for a few hours. Gently scrub the bowl if necessary, and watch those old water stains disappear. If you have water stains lurking around your bathtub or sink drains, place a plug in the drain, add enough water to cover the drain completely and add a tablet or two of Vitamin C. Wait a few hours before scrubbing and draining.

  2. Step 2

Clean your household drinking water with a Vitamin C tablet. All public water supplies are cleaned and disinfected with chlorine which is not removed from your water in the filtering process. Eliminate chlorine by adding one tablet of Vitamin C for every gallon of water. The Vitamin C will add a slight citrus flavor, provide an important vitamin for your family and will neutralize the chlorine.

  3. Step 3

Unclog a drain with Vitamin C tablets. If you have a slow or stopped drain in your house, add one or two tablets of Vitamin C to the drain, making sure they are covered in water so that they will dissolve. Let the tablets set over night, and flush the clear drain with clean hot water in the morning.

  4. Step 4

Protect your fish and help keep your aquarium clean with Vitamin C. When changing the water, add one Vitamin C tablet to a gallon of water and allow the tablet to dissolve completely before adding to the aquarium. The Vitamin C will neutralize chlorine that can be harmful to your fish and will help to keep your aquarium cleaner longer.

  5. Step 5

Powder a few tablets of Vitamin C with a mortar and pestle and add enough water to make a paste. Add the paste to a sponge and use the sponge to scrub baked on food, stained countertops or for any cleaning that requires a light abrasive. The Vitamin C will not only help you clean up your house, it will cut harsh odors, leaving your house with a fresh orange smell.
