So you're thinking recreational sports is a great way to keep the youth busy and a young men's basketball league is just what your community needs to improve teen morale. You have the volunteer coaches and someone has donated the equipment and uniforms, now all you need to do is find a recreational sports facility to host the games and practices. Here's how to find a recreational sports facility.

Instructions

Difficulty: Easy

Step1
Contact your local church. A church may have access to a multi-purpose room that could serve as a recreational facility. Sports like volleyball, basketball, indoor soccer and street hockey can certainly be played in a church facility built for such recreation.
Step2
Call your local school district or college. Many school districts and colleges allow you to rent their facilities when they're not in use. Call the activities director and ask what facility's are available so you can get your game on.
Step3
Navigate your borough or township website. If your local governmental agency has recreational sports facilities available, they most certainly will want people to know about it. If you can't find anything on their website, give the borough or township office a call. The borough secretary should have information about what type of recreational sports facilities are available.
Step4
Visit your local YMCA or YWCA. Many Y's have facility rental available and work closely with the community they're in to provide access to those that otherwise would not be able to access the facilities.
Step5
Make your own recreational sports facility. If all else fails, find an open building, field or other suitable area for your sport and turn it into a recreational facility. You may want to enlist local government officials or ask your local church congregation to help set up a fundraising plan for your sports facility.
