How to Form a Small Youth Club

If you are passionate about starting a club geared toward benefiting the youth of a community, getting one started will not be that difficult for you. There are many things you will need to take into consideration before taking this big step but if you follow the steps below, starting a small youth club will be easier than you could imagine.

      Get permission from the proper authorities. If you want it to be a club for just you and your friends, you will definitely need to talk with your parents and other parents about it. If you want the club to be a city wide attraction, you will need to speak to city administrators to find out how to begin such a club.

      Decide what kind of club you are going to create. Is it just a fun club or is it somehow geared to make your city a better place to live in? This is a very important step in starting a club.

      Name your club according to what kind of club it is. Use a name that is not easily forgotten but easily recognized.

      Find a place to have club meetings. Make sure the meetings will not be interrupted because of the location, but also make sure there is enough seating and room for all that attend the meetings. You want to make sure the members are comfortable.

      Advertise the club if you plan on it being a public club. Even if it is just a neighborhood club, advertising is very important. Make posters, fliers, visits to prospective club members.

      Meet. The first meeting will probably be the most disorganized of all of them. After the first one you will understand what is going on better and the next meetings will continually get more organized. If you meet regularly (once a week or once a month), your club will be much more successful. Make sure you keep the same meeting time throughout. For instance, if you meet weekly you may want to meet every Thursday at 7pm, but if you meet monthly, you may meet the first Thursday of every month at 7pm. Regardless of the time you choose, keep this schedule.
