Blu-Ray technology is the newest wave in computer technology. Hewitt-Packard, not one to be left behind, released a notice to get involved with Blu-ray in 2006 for consumer use. Since then they have made the built-in drive available in a limited number of their customizable models. Use these steps to learn more about how to buy HP Blu-Ray disk drives.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderate

Step1
Visit HP's website. You will need to do a search in the store for Blu-ray because they have not released a lower price point Blu-ray disk drive. All of the Blu-ray disk drives they offer are built into customizable towers.
Step2
Check out a local computer hardware retailer. Visit your local computer hardware and component retailer to find out if they carry any of the HP customizable PCs that have the Blu-ray drive built in to them. If they do not have one on the floor, ask about special ordering.
Step3
Consider being used equipment. It is not very likely you will find one used since they have only been producing the special customizable PC's with the Blu-ray drives since early 2007, but try the usual used sites and local newspaper or thrift shops for possibilities. Once enough time has passed, the Blu-ray drives will begin showing up in used outlets.
Step4
Buy a new system with the drive built right in. Since this is the likely option for HP, you can order them customized direct from the manufacturer by shopping on the website or call HP's customer care line to put together the PC that is right for you. There will be elevated costs in this, but you will have the PC that is right for you.
