Chardonnay is one of the most well-known white wines in the world. With its soft, fruity and slightly buttery flavor, there is no other wine like it. Napa Valley is no stranger to Chardonnay and holds many of its top makers. Use these steps to learn a more about Chardonnay and how to collect Napa Valley Chardonnay.

Difficulty: Moderate
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Research Napa Valley Wineries to find the ones that produce Chardonnay. This should be fairly easy and becoming familiar with their wineries, through their websites, will give you an idea of the differences between the wines they produce, helping to narrow down the ones you want to tour and taste.

  2. Step 2

Pick your favorites of the wineries or wines you want to tour and taste. Make sure to take the time to get all the details from each winery you plan to tour. This should include tour times and days, price, what is included in the tour, transportation possibilities and any other important details.

  3. Step 3

Go on a tour and tasting. This can either be done as a long vacation around the Napa Valley touring all the wineries they have to offer or done in short weekends, taking the time to get to know each of the favorites you chose.

  4. Step 4

Store your collection properly. Storing wine properly is extremely important to maintain its flavor. You must avoid UV light, dry air, varying temperatures and vibration. Contrary to recent design plans, the kitchen is the worst place to store wine as they have all of these natural known enemies. Invest in a wine cellar cabinet or build one yourself.
