Finding affordable beach destinations is hard because they are often hidden. It is simple supply and demand. However, there are still some special places that are booming and affordable. This might send you into a "How is this possible" whirl. But it is true. There are affordable beach destinations waiting for you. Here is how to find them.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Try locations like Old Orchard Beach in Maine, Anna Maria Island in Florida, or Block Island in Rhode Island. For the daring, try foreign destinations like Rosarito, Mexico, Jamaica and missions trips. Missions trips often have work involved, but also include expeditions.

  2. Step 2

Try somewhere new. Don't get stuck going to the same old hotel-laden beaches. Skip the beaches with hotel chains and fast food restaurants. The chains attract people, so avoid the beaches with chains and find a cheap destination.

  3. Step 3

Find destinations at off-season times. May, June and September are all nice near beaches and are considered pre-season in many locations. The east coast beaches begin to reduce their prices at these times while kids are still in school. There are even cheaper prices during the "off" or winter season. Ask for these prices when you call the motel or Bed and Breakfast.

  4. Step 4

Stay in family run motels and bed and breakfast lodging. Check the internet for the destination you wish to go to. Many people are computer savvy and have websites for their motels. Ask when their best prices occur and go then.

  5. Step 5

Splurge on the hotel and bring your own food. Rent a home, condo or hotel room with a kitchen and plan on packing a picnic. Affordable destinations are not only in the accommodations. Stay at a B&B with food included. Don't overbuy and buy your favorite foods so you don't go out and splurge on additional goodies later. Eat and be happy.
