Morocco may be the world biggest producer of hash, with six percent of its GNP resulting from the growing of cannabis for hash production. Moroccan varieties are the most common types of hash found sold on the streets today. The most common varieties of hash coming from Morocco are dark in color; however, Honey Moroccan hash is produced in a unique way, giving it its identifiable golden color.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderately Challenging
Step1
Observe the color of hash to identify the Honey Moroccan variety. In the unique method of production, the "kif," or flower that grows on the buds of a cannabis plant are used to extract the resins which form hashish. When the kif is used instead of the leaves and buds, the final product results in a light honey color.
Step2
Smell the hash to identify Honey Moroccan. Because the kif is used to produce this honey-colored hash, the smell will be very similar to marijuana, but with a heavier floral aroma. While many darker forms of hash have a spicy aroma, the scent of Honey Moroccan is light and aromatic.
Step3
Check the consistency of the hash brick, as Honey Moroccan will be different than most varieties. Because of the kif processing method, this type of hash will be sticky to the touch, leaving a somewhat granular resin on your fingertips. When cut or broken, the malleable brick will flake off. This form of hash must be heated to form a ball shape, and will expand almost double its size when exposed to a flame.
Step4
Examine the quality and craftsmanship of the brick itself, which comes in .5, 1 and 1.5 cm slabs. Honey Moroccan hash is created by maybe the world's most experienced producers, and they take their honey varieties seriously. All bricks should be a consistent size, as if from a factory, and may even have a professional label and package. If the brick appears to be formed badly, or there is any evidence of amateur craftsmanship, you are not looking at Honey Moroccan.
