In Tarot, suit of Pentacles generally deals with money and possessions. When the cards assume non-material positions in a spread, they can refer to growth, prosperity, abundance or the lack of these. It's best to master the suit separately so you can integrate the meanings smoothly into your reading.

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Tarot deck
  • Notebook
  • Pen
  1. Step 1

Memorize the correspondences for the suit of pentacles so that you can interpret nonmonetary meanings during a reading. The cards can signal a gain or loss and a time of plenty or deprivation. All correspondences for the element of earth apply to this suit.

  2. Step 2

Learn about the court cards. The Page and Knight of Pentacles may signal hard-working, responsible young people coming into the client's life. The Queen and King are for older and prosperous people.

  3. Step 3

Interpret the Ace of Pentacles as a sign of growth. Aces of the suit always symbolize some new beginning. Reassure your client she will enter a time of prosperity when this card appears in the spread.

  4. Step 4

Keep in mind that the Five and Seven of Pentacles are the most negative of the suit, so interpret them with care during a reading. The nine, however, signals success and the Ten of Pentacles shows your client can expect abundance and wealth.

  5. Step 5

Separate the suit of Pentacles from the rest of the deck. Each morning, choose a card to carry with you throughout the day. At night, reflect in your notebook how its message fits into the events of the day, including nonmaterial gains or losses.

  6. Step 6

Offer to do 3-card readings for friends and family using just the Tarot suit of Pentacles. Everyone likes to know if they'll have abundance in the near future. Smooth over negative readings by reassuring them difficult times will pass.

Tips & Warnings
  • When interpreting the Ten of Pentacles, remember that wealth can come on many planes, so examine other cards in the tarot spread before promising your client riches.
