When spring finally arrives after a seemingly endless winter season, your children's clothing begins to lighten up. Heavy sweaters are put away in favor of lighter pullovers and boots make way for sandals. Here are some easy tips on how to transform your child's wardrobe from winter warm and fuzzy to spring soft and breezy.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Canvas shoes
  • Capris for girls
  • Baseball caps
  • Bucket hats
  • Newsboy caps
  1. Step 1

Search for fresh spring shoes. Choose brightly colored canvas shoes. Converse "Chuck Taylors" have many different bright colors and cool styles for both boys and girls.

  2. Step 2

Get rid of the dark colors. Buy new clothing in bright bold colors and soft pastels. Invest in a couple pairs of light khaki corduroy pants and match them with a sky blue top for a perfect spring look.

  3. Step 3

Purchase new capris for girls. Capris can be found in many of styles and fabrics. They are the perfect pant when the weather is somewhere between jeans and shorts.

  4. Step 4

Buy new hats. Try baseball caps for boys and newsboy caps for girls. Hats will keep your kids heads warm on those chilly spring mornings and block the sun from their eyes on sunny spring afternoons. Bucket hats also will give your child's outfit a fresh spring look and are available for both boys and girls.

  5. Step 5

Go to the mall. Many parents loathe the mall, especially with kids in tow, but if you want to revamp your kids' spring wardrobe, a trip to the mall is necessary. Hit all of the trendy stores to get an idea of what's "in" for kids fashions. Let your kids choose what they like. Clothing is a form of expression for children; let them decide what clothes they like best for their new spring wardrobes--with a little guidance from you, of course.

Tips & Warnings
  • Nix the accessories for young kids. Accessories are cute and fun, but for younger kids, they pose dangerous choking hazards.
