Earth Day is a day to remember the importance of respecting our environment, and how all of us can help to keep our world beautiful and pollution-free. Making an earth pendant is a fun way to celebrate Earth Day, and it's easy enough that even young children can do it with little assistance.

Instructions

Difficulty: Easy

Things You’ll Need:

  • 1 sheet of clear plastic.
  • Computer printer
  • White craft glue
  • Green and blue food coloring
  • Popsicle sticks to stir and spread the glue
  • Paper cups, old jar lids, or other disposable containers
  • Paper clips
  • Yarn or string
Step1
Go to the Enchanted Learning website and print out a picture of planet Earth. Choose either the Western Hemisphere or Eastern Hemisphere.
Step2
Put the clear plastic on top of the printout of the Earth.
Step3
Make blue glue by adding a few drops of the blue food coloring to a small amount of glue in a paper cup. Mix a small cup of green glue the same way. Use the popsicle sticks to stir the the glue.
Step4
Spread the glue on the plastic, using green for the land and blue for the water.
Step5
Place a paper clip in the glue near the top of the pendant and allow it to dry completely. This will take a few days.
Step6
Wear your completed Earth Day pendant, or give it away as a gift.
