Things You'll Need:
- Long Ratchet Strap
- Blanket or tarp
-
Step 1
Wrap the carcass in a blanket or tarp to keep the blood from getting on anything and to keep dirt out of the meat. Blood stains can be difficult to remove from many surfaces. Dirt and grime mingled with flesh can spoil the meat.
-
Step 2
Tie the strap to the back legs of the carcass and wrap it around the carcass a few times to secure it to the body. Place the deer on the roof of the car with the back legs towards the front of the car.
-
Step 3
Open the doors of the car and pass the strap from one side of the car through the two open doors and back up to the carcass. Continue to do this as you work your way down the body and on the final pass of the strap through the doors and back to the carcass. Tie the rope off to the two front legs.
-
Step 4
Use the ratchet to tighten the strap to make sure the deer can't move. Get in the car and take your deer home.
