Weaving a daisy chain is a fun thing to do on spring or summer afternoons, especially if you've just found a field full of daisies. Create wreaths, headbands and necklaces out of daisies with this outdoor activity that's easy for kids to do.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Daisies
  • Rubber band (optional)
  • Toothpick (optional)
  1. Step 1

Find daisies with long stems. The stems should be thick and strong. If you live in an area full of daisies, pick your own or use store bought daisies.

  2. Step 2

Use your fingernail or a toothpick to poke a small hole into the stem about 1/4 inch to 1/2 inch from the top of the daisy.

  3. Step 3

Pull this small hole apart, gently, using your fingernail or toothpick.

  4. Step 4

Thread a second daisy's stem through the hole you just created. Pull it tight.

  5. Step 5

Create a hole in the second daisy's stem and repeat, threading daisies through the stems until you've reached the desired length of your daisy chain.

  6. Step 6

Poke a hole in the stem of the first daisy in your chain and thread the last daisy's stem through that hole to create a wreath. You might add a small rubber band to keep the wreath together.

  7. Step 7

Weave the loose stems together, if you want.
