Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock on the Wii is the first time the Guitar Hero franchise has appeared on a Nintendo platform. The game features a guitar controller that utilizes your remote to connect to your Wii and give you force feedback. Here is how you can play Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock on the Wii.

Difficulty: Moderate
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Connect your Wii remote to your guitar. Find the panel on the back of the guitar. It looks like a place to put batteries. When you remove the cover, there will be a cable that you will attach to the Wii remote, like the connector for the nunchuck attachment. Once you connect the Wii remote to the controller, place the remote inside the guitar and replace the cover. Now you have a fully functional guitar controller.

  2. Step 2

Learn your guitar. Your controller is a white Gibson Les Paul. You have five fret buttons on the neck that you will use to play notes. You also have a strum bar in the middle of the body of the guitar that you will use for rhythm. The whammy bar is at the base of the guitar, which is used to bend your pitch and increase your star power meter. There is an analog stick you can use for navigation at the top of the guitar above the neck and a few navigation buttons on the other end of the guitar.

  3. Step 3

Start your Guitar Hero III career. The career mode in Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock places you as the guitarist for an up and coming band. You get to play through several rock classics, battle guitar greats like Tom Morello of Rage Against the Machine and rise to the top of the guitar world as the true guitar hero.

  4. Step 4

Battle through songs and bosses. You will have to complete three or four different songs at each venue to move on to the next. Sometimes you will be challenged to a boss fight against someone like Slash from Guns and Roses. The boss battles work like the battle mode, with weapons you can use to attack your opponent.

  5. Step 5

Get some friends and play with or against each other. As much fun as it is to rock out by yourself, you can have even more fun rocking out with friends. You can do a career co-op mode that will let you both play on the songs. You can also battle against each other and use weapons such as amp overloads and string breaks to win each song.

Tips & Warnings
  • Your guitar's neck can detach from its body for easier storage.
  • Thanks to the guitar using your Wii remote, your guitar is wireless. Keep fresh batteries handy to make sure your show doesn't end early.

on 12/31/2007 A pretty good article for beginners, but most of this stuff is just the basics. I appreciate the effort put into this though, and it is rather well written. A pretty good article overall.
