Step 1
Decide where you want to go when you plan a romantic lost weekend. Target your search towards a secluded place or a non-tourist attraction. If at all possible, try to plan a romantic lost weekend at a time that doesn't coincide with major holidays in major cities. It's difficult to be romantic when there are large crowds.
-
Step 2
Call at least one to two weeks ahead to make hotel lodging reservations. You can also check with bed-and-breakfast cottages to see what's available and what specials they're running.
-
Step 3
Pack light clothing. Only pack for a couple of days stay with outfits that can be interchanged and mixed up with tops, bottoms and shoes to make different looks. Based on your travel plans, an evening gown or tuxedo may not be necessary.
-
Step 4
Unplug and disconnect all electrical devices when you arrive at your destination. Don't allow yourself to be a slave to the cell phone or the computer. This is a special time. Leave instructions with your family to call the hotel only in cases of extreme emergencies.
-
Step 5
Plan to eat light while you are away on a romantic weekend. You will experience abdominal discomfort and distress if you eat too much.
-
Step 6
Exchange gifts with your spouse or significant other when you plan a romantic lost weekend. This touch adds to the atmosphere and the ambiance of the weekend.
