Undeniably, we all have a sweet tooth. That's a fact. Everyone loves a good chocolate chip cookie, but this one is super-charged with walnuts, loaded with omega 3 essential fatty acids, wheat germ with folic acid, fiber, potassium, protein, zinc, vitamin E and magnesium, and sweetened with calorie-free Stevia powder.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • 2 cups whole wheat baking flour
  • 3/4 tsp. sea salt
  • 1 organic Grade A large egg or 2 organic egg whites
  • 3/4 tsp. non-aluminum baking powder
  • 1/ tsp. Stevia Powder
  • 1 tsp. vanilla flavoring
  • 1 cup un-hydrogenated margarine
  • 1 1/4 cups chocolate or carob chips
  • 1 cup chopped walnut pieces
  • 2 tbs. wheat germ
  • Wax paper

How to Bake Super Charged Chocolate Chip Cookies

  1. Step 1

Pre-heat your oven to 350 degrees and then lightly grease a cookie sheet and reserve. In a large mixing bowl, sift the flour, salt, and baking powder together and set aside. Mix in wheat germ.

  2. Step 2

Allow the margarine to become room temperature. Put the stevia, egg, and vanilla in a large mixing bowl and beat well with a hand-held electric mixer or a sturdy wooden spoon. Add the margarine a little at a time continuing to beat until the mix is smooth and creamy.

  3. Step 3

Add the dry mix to the wet mix a half of a cup at a time, stirring well after each addition. Next, fold in the chips and nuts. Refrigerate batter long enough for it to get cold.

  4. Step 4

Drop a tablespoon of batter about 2 inches apart on a waxed sheet-lined the cookie sheet. Bake for about 20 to 25 minutes, however, half way through, turn the sheet pan 180 degrees. Bake till they are golden brown.

Tips & Warnings
  • Under-cooking the cookies by about 30 seconds will result in a softer cookie.
  • If you are not nuts about walnuts, use which ever legume that pleases you.
  • Use organic, unbleached flour when possible.
  • Store in a zip-lock bag or Grandma's cookie jar.
  • Over-cooking the cookies will make them crisp.
  • Overnight, these cookies will mysteriously disappear.
