How to Cook Jamaican Jerk Chicken

Rub the chicken (fish or meat) with butter, or vegetable oil. Sprinkle with jerk seasoning and rub in well. Let it set for at least one hour or for more deep down flavor,let marinate overnight. Grill on the barbeque until done or in the oven on 350 degrees for 1hour 30min. Baste until desired completeness. Add more seasoning for a real spicy dish. Serve with rice and beans, or any of your favorite sides.

Difficulty: Moderate

Things You’ll Need:

  • Jamaican Jerk seasoning, available in any West Indian or Hispanic Market.
  • Chicken, Fish or any meat.
  • Vegetable Oil or Butter

Step1
Clean the Chicken by washing it in cold water and lemon juice. Some may use vinegar.
Step2
If keeping the skin on the chicken, cut between the skin and meat and rub seasoning on the meat and outside of the skin. If skin is not being used, cut small gashes in meat and rub seasoning on chicken.
Step3
Let season for 1 hour or overnight. Then when ready, grill or bake. Grill until done or bake at 350 degrees tipping water in baking pan and baste occasionally for 1hr 30min or until done.

Tips & Warnings

  • Can be VERY SPICY!!!!
