Have a Quiet New Year's Eve Celebration

New Year's Eve is inarguably the rowdiest party of the year. Most will be out in the streets, but some would prefer to just spend it quietly at home. Here are the safest options should you choose the latter.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • A well-selected alcoholic collection
  • DVDs
  • A loving partner to spend the evening with
  1. Step 1

Have your partner spend the evening with you. Make it just the duo and agree not to let your personal or professional lives interfere with the evening.

    This means cellphones off.

  2. Step 2

Pop in a DVD the both of you agree on. Remember that come midnight, your neighbors will probably be screaming the perfunctory "Happy New Year!" greetings from wherever they may be. You might want to consider a loud action movie simply to drown out these ubiquitous cheers.

  3. Step 3

Mix a few cocktails. You don't need to be reminded that this evening serves to be an enjoyable one, even if it's just the two of you. Instead of a "Happy New Year", make it a "Merry New Year"! Cosmos and Martinis are excellent classics that should last you well into the new year.

  4. Step 4

What better way to start off the New Year than with some lovemaking. When the mood strikes, and with the whole world out and about enjoying themselves silly, have your own brand of merrymaking on the couch or the bedroom.

Set off the fireworks without setting off the smoke detector!

  5. Step 5

Sleep. Sleep. Sleep. Have a well-deserved rest for the year hath only just begun. You will have 364 days to go before the next celebration, but until then, make every day of the new year as exciting as the day you ended last year with.

Don't make it a one-time affair. Repeat your celebrations for optimum satisfaction!

Tips & Warnings
  • Take this time to reflect on all the good that you did the last year. Don't haggle on the misdeeds.
  • Remember that the person you choose to be with carries you into the new year.
  • Don't lose your head with the alcohol. You don't want to be passed out when your partner's hoping to make the evening last.
