How to Make Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip Pancakes

Chocolate chip pancakes are a great breakfast or snack item any time of year, but adding peanut butter to the mix makes for a real treat! It's easy to whip up a batch of pancakes when you need something different for breakfast or brunch. Here's how to make a tasty stack of peanut butter chocolate chip pancakes.

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • 1 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 cup 2% milk
  • 4 tablespoons fresh butter
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1 cup miniature chocolate chips
  • 1/2 cup peanut butter chips
  • 1/4 cup Reese's pieces baking bits
  • Chocolate syrup
  • Maple syrup
  • Whipped cream
  1. Step 1

    Prepare the flour mixture. Mix together the flour, sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, baking powder and salt in a large bowl. Set aside.

  2. Step 2

    Add the eggs. Break the eggs into the flour mixture one at a time and mix thoroughly.

  3. Step 3

    Add the chocolate chips. Slowly stir in the miniature chocolate chips until the combined. Make sure chocolate chips do not sink to the bottom by stirring frequently.

  4. Step 4

    Add the peanut butter chips and Reese's pieces. Stir in the baking bits and peanut butter chips to combine.

  5. Step 5

    Cook the pancakes. Melt two tablespoons of butter in a medium-sized frying pan and set to medium-high heat. Pour 1/4 cup batter for each pancake and cook for 1 to 2 minutes. Pancakes will bubble on top when ready to turn over.

  6. Step 6

    Flip pancakes. Flip the pancake to cook other side until lightly brown. Continue cooking process with remainder of the batter.

  7. Step 7

    Serve warm with whipped cream, and drizzle chocolate and maple syrup on top for decoration. Enjoy!

Tips & Warnings
  • Use dark chocolate chunks for an even richer version.
  • Add 1/4 cup cocoa to the mix to make double chocolate peanut butter pancakes.
  • Avoid overcooking the pancakes by turning them as soon as bubbles appear on the surface.
  • The Reese's pieces can melt and burn very easily; turn down the heat if needed.
