How to Make a Florida Cocktail

This is a rum-based drink marked by its extreme sweetness; stay too long with the Florida cocktail and you may start feeling a little sticky. Still, as an odd, little-known cocktail, the Florida is a good recipe to have in your brain should you tire of the usual rum drinks.

Things You'll Need:

• 1 1/2 ozs. dark rum
• 1/4 oz. triple sec
• 1/4 oz. maraschino liqueur
• 3/4 oz. orange juice
• Cocktail shaker and strainer
• Cocktail glass (chilled)
• Ice

1. Add ice to your cocktail glass.

2. Add the dark rum.

3. Throw in the triple sec.

4. Add the maraschino liqueur.

5. Add the orange juice.

6. Mix the drink well with a hard 6- to 10-count shake of your cocktail shaker, then strain into a chilled cocktail glass. Enjoy!

• This drink is sweet enough as it is and needs no fruity garnish.
• There should be no ice in your cocktail glass.
