If you have a teacher or professor who just doesn't seem to like you or your class, here are some ways to win him over.

Difficulty: Moderately Challenging
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Sometimes teacher and professors have preconceived ideas about their students. If you are faced with a teacher who dislikes you or your whole class, there are some ways to get on the teacher’s good side. First, try to talk to the teacher after class or make an appointment to meet them in their office so you can discuss your progress in the class. Let the teacher know that you are trying your hardest and want to know what else you can do to improve. Then take the advice and actually follow it.

  2. Step 2

Next, do your homework on time and have some questions prepared in advance for the next class. When the teacher sees that you are raising your hand and trying to think through the assignment, he/she will have more respect for you.

  3. Step 3

Try adding a kind gesture, such as giving them a holiday card or gift. Sometimes these teachers are the ones that get the most complaints, so they are rarely appreciated. Your act of kindness might help them change their view of their students.

  4. Step 4

Show improvement in your work and test scores. If you find that this teacher is even harder on you than previously, take it as a compliment. That means they see potential in you and want to spur you on to bigger and greater things. Keep trying and do not give up.
