Despite what one might think making your own salad dressing is not complicated. In most cases the ingredients listed can be blended together in a container with a lid and shaken so they are combined. An orange sesame salad dressing is ideal to pair with Asian dishes. It is light, yet hearty in flavor and is best served over an Asian noodle salad, or mixed greens with, without grilled chicken. Things You'll Need

  • 1 garlic clove
  • Blender
  • Container with lid
  • 1 tbsp. Asian sesame oil
  • 1/4 cup apple cider vinegar
  • 1/3 cup orange juice
  • 1 tbsp. soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp. sugar
  • 1/2 tsp. five spice powder
  • 1/4 tsp. salt

Instructions

    • 1

      Put one garlic clove in a blender, or food processor. Mince the garlic clove.

      Combine Asian sesame oil, apple cider vinegar, orange juice, soy sauce, sugar, five spice powder, white pepper, salt and minced garlic in a container with a tightly fitting lid.

      Shake the container vigorously. Continue to shake the container until all the sugar is dissolved into the liquid ingredients.

      Serve over mixed greens, or an Asian noodle salad. Shake well before each use and store unused portions in your refrigerator.
