Making shrimp and garlic pasta is a relatively easy dish. The key is to have all the ingredients prepped and ready to go ahead of time because everything cooks quickly. Make a little extra to eat the next day for lunch — heated up or cold as a pasta salad. Does this Spark an idea?

Things You'll Need

  • 1 lb large shrimp, deveined, shelled and cleaned.
  • 1 lb of homemade fettuccine pasta
  • 2 sticks of unsalted butter
  • 8 to 10 crushed or "slammed" garlic cloves
  • ¼ fresh lemon
  • Splash of white wine
  • Small handful of chopped Italian parsley
  • Olive oil to coat a large saute pan

Instructions

      Prepare your ingredients by washing the shrimp, chopping your garlic and measuring all ingredients. Cook pasta in boiling water for eight minutes or until firm. Saute the shrimp, with butter and garlic, in a frying pan.

      Drain the pasta when it has cooked and add it to a large bowl. Turn off the cooked shrimp and the pasta.

      Toss the garlic shrimp in the pasta bowl. Add the lemon juice, white wine and parsley to coat. Mix thoroughly and serve immediately.

Tips & Warnings

  • Be vigilant of garlic--if it begins to darken, reduce heat.

  • Shrimp cooks very fast. Do not overcook--it will become rubbery and tough.
