How to Tell You Have Bad Film Taste

We all like to think we have good taste. Obviously not everyone does. Hollywood has made trillions of dollars off the poor film taste of the movie going public and it does not look like they are going to give up that pursuit anytime soon. Films get worse, and more people go see them. Do your part in realizing, then altering, your personally bad film taste. Knowing you have a problem is a good start.

Instructions

Difficulty: Easy

Things You’ll Need:

  • A list of films that you have seen

Step1
Count the number of movies you have seen with a Roman numeral in the title. If that number is over 30, guess what?
Step2
If you catch yourself acknowledging that you enjoyed a sequel better than the original, you may have a problem.
Step3
When in the theater, take a look around. If the median age of the audience is under 25, seek help.
Step4
Read credible film reviewers. If you consistently disagree with their assessments, you have bad taste.
Step5
Eagerly awaiting the previews of coming attractions on cable entertainment shows is a bad sign.
Step6
When you go to a movie that is not a comedy and continually mutter, "I didn't get it" afterward, the jig is up.
Step7
If you have ever loved a movie starring or directed by a person who goes by one name, you need assistance. The only exceptions to this rule are "Silkwood" and "Moonstruck."
Step8
Have you ever backed out of watching a foreign film because you don't like to read?
