Playing the piano can be a challenging, yet rewarding experience. The key is to practice. Once you develop a solid understanding of the notes, it would behoove you to find your own style on the piano. Doing this could even lead you to write original music.

Things You’ll Need:

  • solid understanding of notes
  • piano

Step1
Come prepared with a solid knowledge and grasp of musical notes. This can be accomplished by constant practice. Learning the piano is like learning another language, if you don't put it in to use, you'll forget all about it.
Step2
Make a list of your favorite composers and/or musicians. See what they put in their music that attracts you to it.
Step3
Start out by improvising. This is a great way to just let loose and discover an original chord combination in the process.
Step4
Study music theory. This will give in you insight into types of music you might not have known about and also develop your style as a musician.
