Step Seven is another of AA's "action steps." This step is short and sweet and is nothing more than a simple prayer. Like many steps afterward, this is an ongoing process.
Before attempting Step Seven, be sure you have a sponsor who has worked the step before you and agrees that you are ready to take it. Read Chapter 6 in the book "Alcoholics Anonymous," paying special attention to the pages pertaining to Step Seven.
Step2
Review the lists you made in Step Six. See if any more character defects can be added to the "ready" list.
Step3
Open "Alcoholics Anonymous" to the Seventh Step Prayer. Many find it helpful to get down on their knees and say the prayer out loud. Do what feels comfortable to you.
Step4
Do the Seventh Step Prayer daily. You are now ready for the Eighth Step.
Tips & Warnings
This step is short for a reason. Don't overdo it. Continue to say the Seventh Step Prayer daily.
This step doesn't take long, but like many of the remaining steps, will be ongoing. Don't waste too much time on this step.
Sometimes you will find meetings that only focus on the Sixth and Seventh Step. Many people call these meetings "Advanced AA." They can be helpful.
