Make a Radish Flower

Radish flowers are radishes carved to resemble a flower. They are often used either as a decoration, but can also be eaten on top of salads, making for quite the appetizer. Some may eat the radish flowers, while others will use them to decorate their dinner tables for special occasions. Decorations aren't usually edible, which is a positive about radish flowers. These are used all around the world for both purposes.

    Things You'll Need

    • Radishes
    • Cutting board
    • Paring Knife
    • Bowl of ice cold water
    • Paper towels
      • 1

Wash the radishes thoroughly to make sure they are clean. Use a paring knife to cut the stems and the top of the radishes.

      • 2

Place the radish on the cutting board so that the cut surface is facing down.

      • 3

Make incisions about 1/4 inch from the outer edge of the radish. Turn the radish around while making incisions to equal four cuts along the diameter of the radish.

      • 4

Repeat steps 2 and 3 for all of your radishes.

      • 5

Place the radishes in the bowl of ice cold water, then refrigerate it for a few hours.

      • 6

Take the radishes out when you are ready to decorate or eat them, and pat them dry with a paper towel. Place them where you like, on the table or in your salad dishes.
