How to Juggle A Night of Parties

Not only is it Saturday, but it's also the same day as your best friend's birthday, your parent's anniversary and your co-worker's baby shower. Stop! Before you decide on which one to cancel on, follow these few steps to hit every party and enjoy yourself.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderate

Things You’ll Need:

  • A plan
  • Comfortable, versatile outfit (to fit each event for the night)

Step1
Plan ahead. Once you realize you have multiple engagements in one night, decide which one you're going to first and how much time you'll spend at each. This will keep you from spending too much time at one and missing out on others that you've committed to completely.
Step2
Call the party host(s) to give an estimate of the time you will be there. This will defray any rudeness on your part for possibly not showing up at the start of the party.
Step3
Take a gift or make a contribution to the party. This is not only common courtesy, but it can also ease the brevity of your stay at each party. A bottle of wine or a card would be nice, depending on the type of party. You want to be invited back, right?
Step4
Choose a versatile outfit to wear. One party may require you to be dressy, while another may be casual. Ladies: A dress always works for most occasions. Guys: A button-down shirt with a nice pair of dark jeans or slacks usually works. Choosing the right outfit can dictate your night.
Step5
Wear a smile. Be festive without appearing rushed and try to make a little conversation to display your enjoyment and interest in the party even though you may have to leave early.

Tips & Warnings

  • Go light on the drinks.
  • Have a designated driver in place.
