Step 1
Organize a toy and clothing drive by choosing toys and clothes that are no longer needed. Let your children help select these items so that they feel like they are a part of the process.
-
Step 2
Ask children to select one or more items at the grocery store to be donated to a local food pantry.
-
Step 3
Organize a neighborhood clean up. Find a local park that needs a bit of restoration. Gather your child, some friends and other adults to spend a weekend day giving back to the community. Have at least one parent available to supervise the cleanup to make sure that children to not injure themselves picking up items that could harm them.
-
Step 4
Encourage your children to set aside a small amount of their charity each week for a charitable contribution of their choice. Research them and learn more about the charity together.
