If your religion means a great deal to you and guides you in all aspects of your life, you may consider becoming a member of the Christian Right. The Christian right is a group of right-wing Christians, characterized by their conservative social and political values. Although generally called the "Christian Right" the group features a large variety of Christian faiths from Lutheran and Catholic to Christian fundamentalism. With a very clear cut set of beliefs, the Christian Right is not a difficult group to identify.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderate

Step1
Emphasize the nuclear family while blatantly opposing the right of gay families to have a stable but modern nuclear family. The Christian right is adamantly opposed to gays and seeks to deprive gay families of basic civil rights.
Step2
Oppose sexual education for children other than abstinence. The Christian Right believes that telling teenagers not to have sex will prevent them from having sex.
Step3
Strongly favor a ban on all abortions. Forget about right to privacy or women's rights--it's more important to save a life that you won't want to provide government assistance for. The Christian Right favors banning all late-term abortions with tighter restrictions on all other abortions.
Step4
Support religion in public and government life. The Christian right strongly believes that America is a "Christian nation" founded by Christians, so who cares about everyone else's religion!
Step5
Enforce rules and guidelines written in the Bible by legislation. Freedom of religion doesn't exist to the Christian Right, unless you're a member of the Christian Right. After all, who needs religion when you've got God?
Step6
Allow prayer in school, sanctioned by the state. Members of the Christian Right doesn't believe that children have the right to make an informed decision about their religion. Furthermore they believe that praying to their God is acceptable without regard for other non-Christian religions.

Tips & Warnings

  • Favor creationism instead of evolution.
  • Oppose funding for the arts.
