In the age of technology and government spying, many people are fighting to hold on to their basic civil rights while others ignore them. Civil rights are granted to all citizens of the U.S. by the Constitution, but the age of terrorism and the Patriot Act seek to change all that. If you've grown tired of having too much freedom, keep reading to see what you can do to give them all away.

Step1

Ignore all the hard work by generations of people who fought for your civil rights. Forget the women that fought so that women could vote and forget about the thousands of dead black and white civil rights workers that died so blacks could have equal rights.

Step2

Cease reading any privacy documents issued from a doctor's office or governmental agency. Many privacy documents now include exclusions in case of national security emergencies, which is at the government's discretion. Just sign all documents without reading and you're just a few steps away from having no civil rights or liberties. Freedom is overrated anyway, right?

Step3

Don't vote. Giving up on politics altogether like most of your peers have done is perhaps the fastest way to give away your civil rights. It's a right given to you to signify basic freedom, so you are well within your rights to give them to someone else. Besides, what do you need them for?

Step4

Give them away in the name of safety. Everyone knows that too many civil rights is why America is so unsafe and was attacked by terrorists, so the best way to prevent that is to remove the rights of
the citizens and give more rights to non-citizens.

Step5

Believe that you can be more safe. Despite the fact that you can get raped, murdered, or hit by a bus by simply leaving home, many people believe that giving up certain civil rights will help them stay safe. Just in case anyone has forgotten, African Americans had no civil rights for decades and they were no safer than they are today.
