Don't throw away your old chipped china. You can use those teacups, teapot, and gravy boat to make a handsome planter, a greatl novelty gift for anyone, including yourself.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderate

Things You’ll Need:

  • Dried flowers with stems (your preference)
  • Small bag Of green sheet moss
  • An old gravy boat without the lid
  • Floral foam
  • Knife
  • Floral pins
  • Scissors
  • Hot glue gun and glue sticks

Step1
Cut the foam to fit snugly down in your gravy boat. Press it down along the bottom.
Step2
Use a thin sheet of the moss to completely cover up the foam. Secure this with a floral pin on either side.
Step3
Make tiny clusters of dried flowers and trim the stems so that they are all the same length. Insert the stems of the first bundle into the foam, directly into the center.
Step4
Continue making clusters, trimming the stems and inserting them into the foam, working from the inside of the gravy boat out, shortening the stems as you reach the outside of the bowl. Keep them close together so that they're firmly packed.

Tips & Warnings

  • Feel free to use the hot glue gun to secure shorter stems in the pot
  • If the pot is chipped, all the better. It adds charecter to the planter.
  • Be careful with hot glue guns and scissors. Pay attention so that you don't end up with short hair and your fingers glued together.
