How to Tighten Skateboard Trucks

Tightening your trucks makes your ride stiffer and gives you more balance, which may be good when you're starting out. But you may prefer looser trucks, especially when you start doing tricks.

Things You'll Need:

• Skate tool

1. Turn your board over and look at the bolt on the trucks.

2. Grab your skate tool (yes, this is what it's commonly called) and tighten the bolt. Remember the rule "righty tighty, lefty loosey."

3. It only takes a few turns.

4. Get on your board and try it out.

5. Repeat if it's too tight or too loose.

• You may have to repeat several times to get it just right.
