How to Remove Silly Putty From Carpet

Silly Putty is a great toy, but it can get stuck in carpet and hair. Try this:

Things You'll Need:

• Ice
• Case Knife

1. Take a ice tray or several cubes of ice and place into a watertight plastic bag.

2. Place the bagged ice over the putty and let stand for a few minutes.

3. The putty should become brittle and easily break off. For stubborn pieces, scrape gently with the case (butter) knife to lift the putty but leave your carpet intact.

Tips & Warnings

• If the putty will not come away easily, you may have to cut the stubborn piece out with nail scissors or use drycleaning fluid.
