1. Go to the Wikipedia website, www.wikipedia.org and click on "create an account." Once on this page you will have to "sign in."

2. Signing in means, you will have choose a user name and password and then enter a code word to get to the next step of creating your account. These code words are called Captcha and are a way to protect against SPAM. After typing the Captcha, you enter your username, password and an email address. A confirmation will be sent to your email once you have done this.

3. The confirmation code that was sent to your e-mail address is not required to log in, but it will be needed before using any e-mail-based features wikipedia.org.
