How to Connect a DVD Player to a TV That Only has a Cable Connection

Many older television sets do not have the correct input for DVD players. This can be easily worked around with the purchase of an RF modulator, available at any electronics store or discount store.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  1. Step 1

    Plug your cable output into the cable input (this will be marked on the modulator) of the RF modulator.

  2. Step 2

    Connect the DVD player into the modulator's AV inputs.

  3. Step 3

    Connect a standard cable (the kind that comes with cable hookups) from the modulator to your television.

  4. Step 4

    Choose either channel 3 or 4 on the back of the modulator, depending on your cable setup.

  5. Step 5

    Enjoy watching DVDs on your older television! You're ready to go.
