If you have finished your movie and are ready to create a DVD, a great program to use is Adobe Encore. The first thing you will need for your DVD is a menu. Once you have started a project and a menu with text buttons, you need to tell those buttons what they are linking to.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderately Easy

Things You’ll Need:

  • Computer
  • Adobe Encore
  • Digitized Movie File

Step1
Open the Adobe Encore program and open the project you are working on, by going to "File," "Open," "Go to Window," and "Menu" to open the Menu Editor Window.
Step2
Click on the selection tool in the toolbox. It looks like an arrow. Use the selection tool to select one of the buttons you have created in the menu.
Step3
Each button relates to a video clip and each video clip need to be in its own timeline, with its own name
Step4
For your first button, open the Properties menu related to that button by selecting the button within the Menu Editor Window. For example, if your button is “Play Movie” you want it to link to the timeline that contains the video footage for that movie. In the button properties menu you will see “Link” and next to it a drop-down menu. The drop-down menu contains everything that is in your project assets window. Select the name of the timeline that contains the movie from the list.
Step5
Open your Timeline properties window by clicking on the timeline. There you will see “End” with a drop-down menu. Select the name of your Menu from that list, so at the end of your movie the Menu will come back up on your viewer’s TV screen.
Step6
Repeat the above for each button. Save your work.
