How to Make a Havana Sidecar Cocktail

A very simple and totally delicious cocktail that has seemingly been lost to time, the Havana Sidecar is a rum-based concoction whose classic flavor and clean presentation make it a winner. With its basic ingredients and mild taste, any bartender worth his or her salt should have the Havana Sidecar memorized.

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • 1 1/2 ounces gold rum
  • 3/4 ounce triple sec
  • 3/4 ounce lemon juice
  • Cocktail shaker and strainer
  • Cocktail glass (chilled)
  • Ice
  1. Step 1

    Add ice to your cocktail shaker, along with the following: 1 1/2 ounces gold rum, 3/4 ounce triple sec and 3/4 ounce lemon juice.

  2. Step 2

    Give the drink a proper mix in your cocktail shaker with a good 6 to 10 count shake.

  3. Step 3

    Strain it into a chilled cocktail glass. There should be no ice in the cocktail glass. The drink is ready to serve.

Tips & Warnings
  • Lemon juice from a freshly squeezed lemon tastes best, but the store-bought stuff will do in a pinch.
