NASCAR drivers are generally more accessible than stars of other sports, but it is still difficult to get the autographs of many of the most popular figures. A little planning and persistence could help you build your collection of NASCAR autographs.

  • Item(s) to be signed

    Get NASCAR Autographs at Appearances

  1. Step 1

Find out when drivers will be making appearances. Many drivers make appearances for their sponsors or other organizations before races, so check the local media or your favorite driver’s website.

  2. Step 2

Arrive early. Sometimes not everyone at an appearance will get an autograph, so increase your chances of success by getting there early and figuring out the process.

  3. Step 3

Do you need to wait in separate lines for each driver? Choose the line of the driver you like the most. You'll enjoy the experience much more if you are patient and cheerful.

  4. Get NASCAR Autographs at the Track

  5. Step 1

Purchase a pit pass. Most races have a limited number of pit passes for sale. Many pit passes are also given to companies that give them to employees or clients.

  6. Step 2

Try to get autographs on qualifying day or on the day of a race in a lesser series. Often drivers are more laid-back and friendly before the day of the top series' race.

  7. Step 3

Know where you will be allowed. Scout out the areas where the drivers will be. Some tracks allow people to get very close to select areas, and many drivers and crew chiefs are happy to chat or sign autographs with polite fans. Crew chiefs are often more likely to talk with fans than drivers.

  8. Step 4

The most famous drivers will be more difficult to get autographs from. You may be crowded out by other eager fans or the driver may not being signing autographs. Most stars also have security personnel who discourage fans. If there’s a popular driver you really want an autograph from, try to figure out where that driver will need to walk. Then be patient. Stars sometimes stop to sign a few autographs on their way from their trailers to their cars.

  9. Step 5

If you are persistent and follow a driver, you are more likely to catch the driver in a free moment when you can ask for an autograph or a photograph.

  10. Other Ways to Get NASCAR Autographs

  11. Step 1

You can buy autographs, but be careful to find a credible seller.

  12. Step 2

You can try to send an autograph request to the driver. Check his website for information.

Tips & Warnings
  • Bring a plastic bag to place your memorabilia in if it rains.
  • Be respectful of the fact that the track is the workplace of the driver and the crew members.
  • Don't be pushy or you may be asked to leave.
