Have you ever thought about your relatives that you didn't know? Like your great grandfather or great-grandmother. You can find out about your family easily and quickly if you follow these few steps.

Instructions

Difficulty: Easy

Things You’ll Need:

  • computer access

Step1
A few years ago it would take months or years to trace your family history. Now you can do it in minutes or hours! Go to www.ancestry.com. You can sign up for a free trial of two weeks. That should be enough time to get you started and see if this is something you would enjoy!
Step2
Enter your basic info-- you can even enter photos. Just scan them into your computer and upload to the site. The program will attach the photos to your family tree.
Step3
Search the Collections. In minutes you can search census, immigration collections, immigration collections, newspapers, and thousands of collections all in one website!
Step4
Connect with other relatives. My sister has been doing this for a few months and she has corresponded with distant relatives about what they know and who they are.
Step5
Publish a book. My sister is giving my parents a published, professional book of their family trees to keep forever. This service is available for only $29.95. Your family history in a book! Have fun! This can be addictive.
