First gather up your pedals(effects). Your instrument is going to first go into filters (i.e. wah-wah, phaser, envelope filter).
Step2
Next you go from filters into the gain stage. You want to go lightest gain to heaviest, for example a tube screamer is lighter gain than a metal muff.
Step3
Then we go from gain stage into modulation effects. These are your chorus, flanger and tremolo effects. They work best after the gain because you generally want to flange or chorus your distorted signal.
Step4
Lastly you want to go into time based effects like delay, echo and loopstations. This is because you are going to want the effected signal to be the thing repeated not a dry signal.
Step5
Finally you plug your newly arranged signal chain. Enjoy the better sounds and textures that your guitar effects will yeild you!
Tips & Warnings
Fuzz and whammy pedals are contingent upon whatelse is in your line up. They work very well with some pedals and not at all with others. Try them throughout the line up. Generally Fuzz before all, they are very very tempermental.
This could work so well that you will be taking more time out of your day for soundscaping.
