Things You'll Need:
- 1 16-ounce can garbanzo beans (chickpeas), liquid drained and reserved
- 1/4 cup tahini
- 1/4 cup freshly squeezed lemon juice
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 2 cloves garlic, roughly chopped
- Extra-virgin olive oil and chopped fresh parsley or chives to garnish
- Blender
- Rubber spatula

Step 1
Place drained garbanzo beans, tahini, lemon juice, salt, and garlic in blender. Add 2 tablespoons of reserved bean liquid. Process until smooth, adding more liquid as needed until desired consistency is reached.

Step 2
Using a rubber spatula, scrape hummus into serving bowl. If desired, drizzle with olive oil and sprinkle with parsley or chives.

Wrap with plastic wrap and refrigerate for 1 hour to let flavors blend before serving.
