How to get around with a broken keyboard on Windows XP

Sometimes your keyboard breaks down when you are in a jam. If you have a functional mouse here is a way to get you through some tough keyboard jams.

Instructions

Difficulty: Easy

Things You’ll Need:

• Windows XP
• A working mouse

1. go to the Start button
2. Click on All Programs
3. Click on Accessories
4. Click on Accessibility
5. Click on On-Screen Keyboard
6. You can click on Settings in the Keyboard to always make sure the keyboard is on top when you are typing
7. You can now click with your mouse all the letters you need to type.

Tips & Warnings

• You can replace most USB keyboards without restarting, but many PS2 keyboards will require you to reboot before they work. Especially if they have multifunction keys.
• This will not work if you have to login before you can get into Windows.
