It's been reported that one out of every four pregnant women end up on bed rest. Some bed rest is temporary until a potential problem resolves itself, while other pregnancies require bed rest until the baby is born. Bed rest is a common treatment for many high risk pregnancies. Many women assigned to bed rest worry about how thet will manage their household. With a little planning you can keep things from completely falling apart.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderately Challenging

Step1
Prepare your bed rest area. Keep all of the things that you will need as close to you as possible. Books, the phone, television, hobbies, a laptop, snacks and drinks should be within an easy reach.
Step2
Ask family and friends to prepare a dish or two so that you can stock up on meals. If you can get a weeks worth of meals, keep them in the freezer an pull them out each day. Use paper plates and cups to minimize cleanup.
Step3
Ask your boss if you can work from home. The Internet, email, phone, snail mail and maybe even a courier service should make it possible for you to continue earning an income while at home on bed rest.

Tips & Warnings

  • Keep a mini refridgerator or cooler stocked with cool drinks and snacks by your bed.
