on 8/14/2008 I had to write after reading this and disagree with this one....I have a Master's degree in Reading and have worked really hard to get where I am in my profession....it is much more than simply "knowing a little about a certain topic." It takes real skill and talent to actually be an effective teacher, especially in this day and age with the No Child Left Behind nonsense and all of the talk about how we as teachers have to be so careful to not "teach to the test." I have taught in a variety of settings and to a vast range of students and let me express how very challenging as well as difficult it is to reach those young minds.
