The Green Party of the United States is a compilation state Green Party chapters that are dedicated to environmentalism, social justice, non-violence and grass-roots organizing. The Green party was established in its current form in 2001 after restructuring the pre-existing Association of State Green Parties (1996-2001) and has been rapidly growing ever since.

Instructions
  1. Step 1

Learn about the mission of the Green Party. Ten key values that the Green Party supports are: grass root democracy, social justice, ecological wisdom, non-violence, de-centralization, community based economics, feminism, diversity, responsibility, and a focus on the future.

  2. Step 2

Visit the National Green Party website. This site contains a great wealth of information regarding the party, its platform, issues it is concerned with and ways to get involved in the party on both a local and national level.

  3. Step 3

Become a card carrying member of the Green Party. This can be done online at the National Green Party website. Choose the "Join the Revolution" button at the top of the webpage and proceed from there. Becoming a card holding member includes a copy of the Green Party newsletter "Green Pages" as well as information needed to become active within the party. There is a nominal annual fee for joining, so have your credit card and billing information ready.

  4. Step 4

Find a local Green Party chapter and get involved. The National Green Party website offers information on a state-by-state basis. If you cannot find what you are looking for on this site, inquire at your local university to see if they have an organized chapter established or consult you local public library for guidance.
